An extraordinary meeting of the Council of the League of Arab States was held at the level of permanent delegates, on Sunday, under the chairmanship of the Arab Republic of Egypt, to discuss developments in the Republic of Sudan, in response to the request of the Arab Republic of Egypt and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The meeting reached a number of decisions, expressing deep regret for the casualties in the recent clashes, and offering condolences to the families of the victims and the Sudanese people as a whole.
The Council demanded the need to stop all armed clashes immediately to stop the bloodshed, and to protect the security and safety of civilians, the capabilities of the Sudanese people, and the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Sudan.
He stressed the importance of a quick return to the peaceful path to resolve the Sudanese crisis, and the establishment of a new phase that meets the aspirations and aspirations of the brotherly Sudanese people and contributes to enhancing security and political and economic stability in this important country.
The League of Arab States warned of the seriousness of the violent escalation in the Republic of Sudan, and the accompanying dangerous repercussions that are difficult to determine their scope internally and regionally, which requires all parties to promote the interest of Sudan, as a state and people, by exercising maximum restraint and working together to calm the situation to avoid aggravation. and prevent its deterioration.
The attendees affirmed the readiness of the League of Arab States to exert all efforts to assist the Republic of Sudan in ending this crisis in a sustainable manner, and in line with the interest of the brotherly Sudanese people. They stressed the need to follow up on current developments and intensify the necessary Arab contacts to achieve the desired progress. . He called on the Arab ambassadors accredited in Khartoum to coordinate and communicate continuously with the Sudanese authorities and parties, provide the necessary support to restore stability in the situation in Sudan, and coordinate with the General Secretariat of the Council at the ministerial level in this context.
