The sources, who asked not to be identified due to restrictions on speaking to the media, said in a phone call on Monday that the two leaders also addressed NATO expansion.
On Sunday, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and his US counterpart Joe Biden also agreed to hold a one-on-one meeting at the NATO summit scheduled for July 11-12.
While speaking on the phone, Erdogan and Biden also discussed a range of matters including Sweden’s bid to join NATO and the US sale of F-16 fighter jets to Turkey.
