The Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced, on Monday, that the evacuees from Sudan belong to 102 nationalities, according to Al-Arabiya TV.
The Saudi Foreign Ministry added that 225 Saudi citizens were evacuated from Sudan, pointing out that the number of nationals evacuated by the Kingdom from Sudan is 5,409 people.
This came in light of the continuing intense clashes taking place in the Sudanese capital, Khartoum, since Saturday, corresponding to 15 April, between the Sudanese army forces under the auspices of Al-Burhan and the Rapid Support Forces Hamidi, following the dispute over the political framework agreement.
Evacuation of Iraqis to Saudi Arabia
Earlier in the day, Iraq confirmed that 19 Iraqis had been evacuated from Sudan to the city of Jeddah, in coordination with Saudi Arabia.
And the Iraqi News Agency “INA” quoted the spokesman for the Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ahmed Al-Sahhaf, that 19 Iraqi citizens were evacuated from Sudan to the city of Jeddah, in coordination with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and this came as a prelude to their departure to Iraq.
And the Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced, earlier, the evacuation of many Iraqi citizens in Sudan, at the direction of Prime Minister Muhammad Shia al-Sudani, due to the bloody events taking place in a number of Sudanese cities.
Evacuation of Yemenis to Saudi Arabia
For its part, the Yemeni authorities evacuated a new batch of its citizens residing in Sudan to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, as part of the preparations for their transfer to Yemen, and the second evacuation flight for Yemeni nationals from the Republic of Sudan arrived in the city of Jeddah, with 246 citizens on board, in the framework of completing Evacuations of citizens, in coordination with Saudi Arabia.
The Yemeni Consulate indicated that Ambassador Alawi Bafaqih, the Consul General, and a number of Yemeni Consulate General staff were receiving the nationals.
