The sources added that Côte d’Ivoire is not ready to host the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, which was previously postponed to January 2024.
According to the Gazette du Fennec website, the CAF Inspection Committee expressed serious concern in its reports about Côte d’Ivoire’s readiness to host the African event, due to the “Covid 19” virus.
Algeria suggested, as an alternative solution, to replace Côte d’Ivoire, to host the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, especially after the success of “Shane 2023”.
The same sources indicated that the CAF Secretary General, Veron Muspengo Omba, was impressed by the Algerian stadiums during his last visit last March.
And this is within the framework of examining the sports facilities provided by Algeria, in anticipation of candidacy to host the 2025 African Cup.
