Dr. Ali Al-Moselhi, Minister of Supply and Internal Trade, issued a new directive, No. 14 for the current year 2023, regarding the controls for disbursing ration commodities, and determining the quotas of ration commodities for each beneficiary on the ration card, and it will be implemented as of tomorrow, corresponding to May 10.

Article 1 of Ministerial Directive No. 14 stipulates that the following controls are followed during the dispensing of ration commodities – an 800 ml bottle of oil is dispensed to each person, with a maximum of 4 bottles per card.

Each person is given 1 kilo of sugar according to his needs, with a maximum of 6 kilos of sugar for the card.

1 kilo of rice is given to the ration card whose number is less than 4 people, and 2 kilos of rice are given to the card of 4 or more people, or a package (800 pounds) of pasta is given to the card of less than 4 people, and 2 packages (800 grams) are given Card pasta for 4 persons or more.

And in the second article, it was stated that the remainder of the support due to the citizen is disbursed from the items of the list of other ration goods available on the system, and that there is a maximum limit for the total value of the purchased goods to exceed the support balance, and it is paid in cash (five pounds).

The disbursement takes place at a maximum of (four times per month), and the Directorates of Supply and Internal Trade follow up the disbursement of ration commodities to the owners of the specified and prescribed ration cards.

According to Article 3, this directive will be implemented as of 5/10/2023, and every provision to the contrary is repealed.

This directive was taken after reviewing Decree-Law No. 95 of 1945 regarding supply affairs and its amendments.
