Ammon – A Jordanian economic delegation comprising 45 business owners in various sectors started yesterday a working visit to Palestine, to enhance trade and investment between the two brotherly countries, organized by the Palestinian-Jordanian Business Forum.
The delegation will participate in the Fourth Economic Empowerment Conference, which will be held in Hebron, and will also hold meetings with Palestinian economic actors, in addition to visiting factories.
The Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Forum, Eng. Nazmi Atma, confirmed that the delegation’s visit seeks with the institutions of the Palestinian sector to enhance intra-trade between the two countries, increase intra-investments, and take advantage of the opportunities available to them.
In a statement today, Monday, Atmeh indicated that ways to increase trade exchange between Jordan and Palestine and overcome challenges, especially the obstacles placed by the occupying power to the flow of goods between the two sides, will be discussed during the business meetings that the delegation will hold with businessmen’s forums and associations from Hebron, Ramallah and Nablus.
And he indicated that the delegation will discuss with Palestinian businessmen the facilities they need to enhance trade and overcome obstacles, and transfer them to the official authorities to overcome them, referring to the support provided by Jordan to enhance the steadfastness of the Palestinian people.
He expressed his hope to increase and double trade exchange with Palestine, pointing out that the volume of trade exchange between the two countries does not exceed $200 million.
He said that Jordan and Palestine have distinguished historical relations, stressing the importance of the Palestinian economy to the Kingdom, and the need for Jordanian products to take a large share in the Palestinian market.
It is noteworthy that the Palestinian-Jordanian Business Forum was established in 2011, and takes it upon itself to contribute to the development of the national economy and stimulate it through holding conferences and exhibitions on a regular basis and networking between businessmen in the Kingdom and Palestine.
