Ammon – Total insurance premiums increased for the month of February, by 6.2%, to reach 154.8 million dinars, compared to 145.8 million dinars in February 2022, according to Central Bank data.
The data showed an increase in vehicle insurance premiums during the comparison period, by 4.3%, to reach 37.2 million dinars, compared to 35.7 million dinars, in February 2022.
Medical insurance premiums also increased last February by 9.4% to reach 62.5 million dinars, compared to 57.1 million dinars in February of last year.
The total life insurance premiums, during the comparison period, amounted to 27.3 million dinars, an increase of 4% compared to 26.2 million dinars in February of last year.
As for the total insurance compensation paid in February of this year, it amounted to 80.1 million dinars, an increase of 5.4% compared to 76 million dinars in February of last year, according to the data.
Vehicle insurance compensation increased during the comparison period, by 4.4%, to reach 37.9 million dinars, compared to 36.3 million dinars in February 2022.
Likewise, medical insurance compensation increased, last February, by 8.7%, to reach 30.7 million dinars, compared to 28.3 million dinars, in February of last year.
The total life insurance compensation during the comparison period amounted to 7.9 million dinars, down 7%, compared to 8.5 million dinars in February of last year.
